Starry Light by Anagraphic
Do you ever think about how great it would be to look up at the heavens as you’re falling asleep? While it’s no skylight, Starry Light by Anagraphic is almost as good. A collection of constellation lamps, Starry Light Lamps almost makes it feel like you’re sleeping outside under the stars.
Starry Light by Anagraphic, also known as Starry Light Lamps, is collaboration between graphic designer Anna Farkas and interior designer Miklos Batisz. It’s one of those rare design pieces that people just can’t help but stop and look at. Seriously though, enter a room that boasts Starry Light and you won’t be able to help but take a closer peak.
While it is a collaboration piece, Starry Light is the brainchild of Anna Farkas. After coming up with the idea and the design, she recruited the help of Miklos Batisz to help pound out the details. The result is Starry Light by Anagraphic, one of the most unique lamps in the world.
In addition to Starry Light Lamps, Anna Farkas has produced numerous other art and design pieces over the past several decades. A graduate of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, the Budapest native has produced work in a variety of mediums. Much of this work has been displayed at exhibits and showings around the world, many of them very prestigious indeed.
But art installations and design pieces aren’t all that Anna Farkas is known for. She has also published in several prestigious publications. These include Hello Design, Under Consideration, Elle Decoration, Icon, and Budapest Design Week among numerous others. What we’re trying to say here is that you can rest assured that the Starry Light is a work from a world-class artist.
About Starry Light Lamp
As we mentioned above, Starry Light Lamp is just one of the many high quality design pieces produced by Anna Farkas over the years. Yet it’s more than just a lamp. Instead of solely lighting a room, Starry Light actually projects the night sky through the holes of its half hemispheric shade.
The lamp is based on an initial idea by Anna Farkas. Her idea was to use the lamp solely as an art piece. When Miklos Batisz heard of this, he prompted her to produce it as an actual piece of home décor for art-oriented consumers. After it was showcased at the 2500-Watt exhibition in Budapest in 2011, the lamp was then fine-tuned and developed for over a year. It’s been available on the market ever since.
Simply put, Starry Light projects the night sky and all its constellations across your ceiling and other surfaces in your home. The night sky has enchanted humans for thousands of years and the Starry Light brings this enchantment indoors, in the modern day.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of the Starry Light Lamp is its half hemispheric shape. It actually projects the constellations onto your walls exactly as they appear in the night sky. Subtle lines are used to connect the different stars in some of the most well known constellations.
Another unique aspect of Starry Light Lamps is that they are all manufactured by hand in Budapest. Each lamp is designed, decorated, and drilled by skilled designers and craftsmen. This ensures that every single lamp is unique. It also allows the company to individually customize each lamp if desired.
