What are Fitzke Paddle Boards?

Fitzke is the manufacturer behind one of the most stunning paddle boards currently on the market.

Dubbed “The Bootlegger,” it’s often described as the Rolls Royce of paddleboards not only for its high-end price tag but also for its gorgeous design and overall performance.

The Fitzke Bootlegger blends timeless good looks with the best paddleboard technology currently available for a complete package that never fails to deliver a knockout punch.

All Fitzke paddleboards are built to order in Minnesota. Only the finest quality ingredients combined with age-old building techniques are used during the construction. Simply put, if you want one of the most iconic paddleboards around, that’s sure to drop jaws wherever you go, then you need The Bootlegger.

The Bootlegger

The Bootlegger is the signature paddleboard from Fitzke.

It’s built by hand – and each individual paddleboard is built to order – with a design that harks back to the 1920s and 1930s.

The incredible folks behind Fitzke found the design inspiration for this paddleboard in the sleek, stylish airplanes and wooden boats from the prohibition era.

European 1088 Standard and Lloyds Registered Marine Grade Mahogany Plywood are used in the construction with a cold-molding building technique.

Two-party epoxy is then applied to all of the joinery for even more tensile and flexural strength and waterproofing.

Final touches include a fiberglass epoxy bottom, epoxy resin-impregnated sides and top, and marine-grain wood stain. This is topped off with marine-grade varnish and paint.

But that’s not all – The Bootlegger comes with a 5mm-thick standing pad for increased traction and comfort while you’re on the water. You’ll also get a special molded fin with your order.

All of this combines together to create not only a beautiful paddleboard but one that performs very well. The Bootlegger tracks straight and fast, stays stable even in choppy conditions, and is lightweight as well as durable.

This Fitzke paddleboard clocks in at 12’6” long, 29 ¾” wide, and weighs about 40 pounds altogether.

More Details

One characteristic of The Bootlegger that often gets overlooked is its front storage compartment.

The storage compartment is built into the front of the paddleboard so that you can easily stash your phone, wallet, sandals, lunch, or whatever else you have on you in a convenient location.

It’s also worth noting that bespoke options are available. Though the construction elements will largely remain the same, this enables you to choose hand-tailored branding and graphic designs if desired.

Note that only a limited number of Fitzke paddle boards are produced each year.

That means that if you want one of these gems, you must act quickly – otherwise, you might have to wait for a long time to get your hands on your own Bootlegger.

With that said, the Fitzke Bootlegger clocks in at just a hair under $4,000 for the basic model, although individual customizations can be requested.
