The Coolest Nude Beaches Around the World

Looking for sun, fun and adventure? Why not enjoy your next vacation on a nude beach? Nude beaches let you bare it all while enjoying the sunshine, sand, and ocean. While nude beaches are very popular and are located all over the world, actually finding them can be a bit difficult.

Fortunately, we’re here to help! Check out our complete guide to the best nude beaches around the world:

                                                                          Little Beach (Maui)

                                                                       little-beach-2

This is an isolated beach located on the Hawaiian island of Maui – but we’ll avoid the obvious joke about getting lei’d. Surrounded by high shrubs, volcanic rock, and driftwood, you and your fellow beach goers will be secluded from prying eyes. There are plenty of activities to be had here including swimming, body surfing, and whale watching.

There is one important thing to know about Little Beach, however. Nude sunbathing is technically illegal in Hawaii. But this law hasn’t been enforced for years here. Little Beach is known around the island as the “unofficial clothing-optional beach.” In fact, the beach is well-known as a favorite hangout for naturalists including the famous artist “Dr. Leisure,” who has spent over a decade painting colorful scenes from nude beaches.

Haulover Beach (Florida)

Interested in a more official nude beach? If you want to stay in the U.S. your best bet will be Miami’s Haulover Beach. This is one of the few county-run and government-sanctioned nude beaches in the country.

Don’t expect to meet just Floridians here. While the beach is popular amongst the locals, you’ll also likely meet plenty of sunbathers from Canada and Europe as well. Some of the most popular features of Haulover beach are the certified lifeguards and organized group activities including swimming and volleyball.

                                                                                    Leucate Plage (France)

                                                                                                                                leucate-plage-2

Looking for a more international adventure? Head to Leucate Plage in France. This Mediterranean beach has calm waters and golden sands.

Three naturalists (nudist) resorts are within walking distance. But you don’t have to be a guest at a resort to enjoy this beach because it’s also open to the public. Perfect for both the experienced nude beach-goer and first-time skinny-dippers.

Banana Beach (Greece)

This is the collected name for three separate nude beaches. Each beach is curved in shape with yellow sand (so get your mind out of the gutter). The beaches are located on the southwest coast of Skiathos, near Koukounaries. To visit them, you have to follow a short footpath through olive groves.

If you’re interested in nude bathing during the peak season, you’ll want to visit Little Banana. This is because clothed beachgoers will usually take over the main beach. The Banana Beaches, and Little Banana, in particular, are considered some of the best bare beaches in Greece.

Samurai Beach (Australia)

Party down under at Samurai Beach, one of Australia’s most popular nude beaches. Both this beach and the famous One Mile Beach are located near the Tomaree National Park. Unlike One Mile, however, clothing is entirely optional at Samurai.

These beaches are well-maintained year-round. So you can flee the winters in the U.S. and enjoy the Christmas season on the beach. Talk about a Merry Christmas!

Wreck Beach (Vancouver)

While Canada might not be the first place you think of when it comes to nude beaches, Wreck Beach in Vancouver is actually the country’s oldest and largest nude beaches. It was even nominated for one of the Seven Wonders of Canada.

This beach is perfect if you want to avoid the crowds. There’s no road access, so be prepared to walk a bit. Once you’re at the beach, however, you’ll find vendors selling everything from booze to T-shirts. And, yes, sometimes the vendors are nude.

Whether you’re new to the world of nude beaches or are just looking for new places to visit, our guide should help you find the perfect spot. So don’t be afraid to get out there, go bare and have some fun at a clothing optional beach.
