Kit cars provide a hands-on experience, fostering a deep connection between builders and their creations. Beyond the satisfaction of crafting a car, the driving experience is often thrilling, embodying the spirit of individuality and creativity on the open road.
Exomotive Exocet Kit Car
The Exomotive Exocet is a lightweight, easy-to-build exoskeletal kit car:
Remember building model cars back when you were a kid? It’s probably been a long time since you’ve even thought about putting your model car-building skills to work. You might not even know if you have what it takes anymore! Well, don’t worry, because the guys at Exomotive have developed an easy and fun way for you to get your creative juices flowing by building adult versions of your beloved model cars. That’s right, you can now relive your model car building days in a bigger and better way with the Exomotive Exocet.
The Exomotive Exocet is a lightweight, easy-to-build exoskeletal kit car based on the much-loved Mazda Miata platform. To build an Exocet, you’ll first strip the body and wiring harness off of a donor Miata from any year between 1990 and 2005. You’ll then unbolt the front and rear sub-frames, and lift the old body off the underpinnings. The next step is to actually build your Exocet, which is the fun part! It involves riveting the floors of your Exocet chassis, reattaching the brake and fuel lines on the new chassis, and reinstalling all of the Miata’s parts onto your Exocet. It may sound like a lot of work, but the time you spend working on your Exocet is enjoyable, and completing the project usually takes less than 100 hours.
The Exomotive Exocet comes in three different models, and the one you need is based on the type of experience you’re looking to get with your Exocet after you’ve built it.
The Exocet Base is the best option if you’re looking for a kit car to drive around town. It’s a fun street build, which means that the roll bar is not suitable for use in competitions or races. The Exocet Base provides the foundation for a fun street-oriented Exocet, and is designed to be used with a standard three-point seatbelt system. For only $6,999, the Exocet Base is the perfect casual Exocet that is sure to help you relive your childhood dreams of building the ultimate model car.
The Exocet Sport is Exomotive’s most popular model. With its upgraded roll bar structure, the Exocet Sport is the perfect option for a street-ready Exocet, but it also retains the option of racing on the many tracks throughout the United States. For extra safety, the Exocet Sport uses 4, 5, or 6-point harnesses, and costs only $7,499.
The Exocet Race, which sells for $8,299, features a full cage and steel floors. It’s the best choice if you’re looking for the ultimate track car but also want to keep safety in mind. The Exocet Race places a huge emphasis on driver safety and uses 4, 5, or 6-point safety harnesses.
