Hydratrek amphibious vehicles are made from aluminum because of its high strength-to-weight ratio. Aluminum is strong and durable and provides better corrosion resistance than other materials. It is also one-third the density of steel, which allows it to float more easily because it weighs less. At the same time, aluminum is stronger than plastic or polyurethane, which is important for users who regularly push their vehicles to the limit in difficult environments.
On land, a Hydratrek machine can reach speeds of up to 15 mph. In the water, top speed is 4 mph or 3.4 knots.
